Introducing Loop Haro! We needed another Gentle-man around these parts and he definitely fits the bill – a fashionable, hard-working, innovative one at that. It’s inspiring to see someone successfully have their hands in so many pots. Go Loop!
“I own a few companies that help facilitate event production – mostly weddings, but also the occasional fashion or product launch. TACT was my first company in the family, born in 2007, helping manage all aspects of events at really sweet event venues (like SmogShoppe, Marvimon, and NWBLK. Then came Jeffrey Valet & Owl Valet in 2009. We redesigned valet to be about hospitality and style, not just parking. Then came Dovetail, an event logistics company tailored to serve the needs of event professionals (i.e. installation, transportation, and strikes for designers, florists, caterers, boutique rental companies, etc.) that led us to open offices in San Francisco, Dallas, Austin, and shortly, Minneapolis and Chicago. My thinking is that there are so many lost aspects of pulling off a smooth event, that we want the incredible designers and craftsmen we work with, both big and little, to be able to focus on their creative work, by letting my team handle the rest.”
…and now his favorite piece and why:
“The fave is my Steven Alan deep blue chambray shirt. By far. Know why? You can’t mess with chambray, man. We use it for our uniforms, and it has the thing every fellow wants in a shirt: the trusty options of tie or untucked. Go for it. Roll the sleeves- looks fresh. Pin on a tie clip- looks fresh. Steven Alan shirts just seem to fit in the shoulders really well, to boot.”
Thanks so much Loop!

Cheers to the 4th Traveling Stamp participant — Jessica Comingore!! She has completed her choice of medium: A 100% Cotton Scarf. I was so excited to see some color brought into the project – and what a color!! It adds such a nice pop to such a bold pattern. With Fall in full swing, a scarf was the perfect idea for the Traveling Stamp. Bravo Jessica!!
“When Emma asked if I’d like to be a part of the Traveling Stamp project earlier this summer, I replied with a resounding yes. It’s not often that I DIY (read: never) but thought it would be a fun opportunity to get my hands dirty and create something away from the computer for a change. Turns out it was a load of fun and made me ask myself why I don’t DIY more often!”
“In brainstorming for the project, I tossed around a few ideas but landed on a scarf as its recently been my go-to for adding a little punch to a neutral outfit. And while I tend to be a black and white kind of gal, I’ve got an affinity for tomato red and thought it would be fun to see the pattern in color. After several hours of dirty hands and paint splatters on wood floors, the scarf was complete. I love the abstract pattern and imperfections you get when hand stamping… a true labor of love. Can’t wait to see where it travels to next (and a big thanks to Victoria for being my scarf model).”
Next up, we plan to send it to the East Coast!! Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram & Twitter with the hashtag #travelingstamp. You can see all of the projects involving the stamp here.
I’m so excited to announce that I will be a guest blogger over at Need Supply during the whole month of November! What an insanely awesome task right? Over the past year, I have really fallen in love with this company so it’s a great honor to be involved with them in such an open and creative way. I have some cool stuff planned so stay tuned as the month progresses!
…A little bit about their blog:
“The Need Supply Co blog has been active since February of 2009. Since its beginning, it’s represented who they are and offered a different view of the fashion industry. From a casual side to a business side, it’s shown their culture, thoughts, ideas, products, sounds, and things they want to share with the world.”

I have officially found the most wonderful online shop ever – Heist. It is 100% out of my budget but I guarantee I’ll be visiting it regularly. I love how the site pairs looks together and shows them being worn. What a wonderful source for ideas and inspiration. And the photography, spot on.

Three things that have made me happy as of late:
01. This photo is from today! That thumbs up is because…….. I finally had someone come out to shoot the studio! It’s about damn time right? I kept rearranging & adding & moving & painting – I needed to just capture it in it’s current state & understand that it will always be changing. I can’t wait to show you guys.
02. A while back, I got a seamless for my studio and it needed some love ( …it’s too white and blank! ) so I decided to spray paint my logo in the middle of it. This was apart of a little film me and my buddy Wade are making. It’s going to be apart of my new portfolio website launch. Get ready… I did some acting :)
03. Have you ever had a drink with chocolate bits in it? Well, I have and it rocked! This was apart of a little styling gig I worked on with some of my favorite creatives. You can see more here on Julia Kosterva’s blog.
Hope you guys are having a great week!
Cheers to Halloween creepin’ up. BOO.

Introducing… Paige Jones! Do you guys remember this project I recently finished? After Paige and I worked together, I HAD to invite her to be apart of this feature. She was passionate, focused, and such a pleasure to design for. Also, after falling down the rabbit hole that is her blog, I knew she would take ownership of the challenge and really capture her life & style.
…a few words from her:
“I’m a photographer currently residing in Long Beach, California where I live with my wonderful husband and our handsome pup, Lincoln. I’m an eternal optimist that sees beauty in everything. I’m a horrible writer, but love to create compelling narratives through my photographs. Currently I’m focusing my energy on creating timeless, stunning photographs for my incredible wedding clients. In my free time I can be found dreaming up adventures with my husband, rock climbing with my Long Beach posse or snuggling with my pup.”
…and now her favorite piece and why:
“My favorite piece, hands down is my wedding set. My husband found this crazy talented artist in London and collaborated with her on my engagement ring, then I got to pick out the band to go with it. I can’t believe I get to wear something so insanely beautiful, for the rest of my life.” You can see more photos of her rocking this look here.
p.s. I have to bring this up because I am obsessed. Look at these photos from Paige’s wedding day. Her dress??? I think I drooled for a straight hour upon seeing it… Such a beauty!
I’m gunna go ahead and kick this post off with a video shot by my buddy, Steve Pappin. I’m stoked to show you guys how much fun we had behind the scenes of the book shoot. I can’t believe that almost one year ago I was finishing up my designs and preparing for this shoot! Man time flies…
Now that the book is done and available, it’s time to celebrate! I’m teaming up with one of my favorite Los Angeles shops, Individual Medley! They are going to be killer hosts. The majority of the people I worked with on Knitting By Design are based in LA so I felt it was fitting to kick-off the fun there.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, November 7th from 7 – 9pm. There will be drinks ( clink* clink* ), yummy food from Urban Palate, and a Smilebooth. Also, the book will be available for purchase at the shop and I’ll be bringing a few finished patterns ( …for you interested knitters )
Hope to see you there!!
These are the posters I made to promote the get-together. I had way to much fun color coding my yarn to take these photos. I don’t know what I’m going to do with all my leftovers… I think I’ll just make a lot of beanies for christmas gifts this year, ha. Also, I snapped some pics of a few of my favorite details in the book – a little teaser for ya. Did you see the video flip-through I put up?
