I am extra excited about today’s dreamy post!! The ladies over at Karen Kimmel Studios have so graciously given us an insiders look at one of their current products, the dream-catcher. They invited me over to their work space ( which happened to be right next door to my studio, neighbors!! ) to see how their dream catchers are made and to let me customize one of my own! I got to pick out my beads, string, feathers, everything! I was in color heaven and may or may not have had a really hard time choosing – there were so many beautiful options. My favorite detail was the wooden feathers & organic shapes that were laser cut out of a really thin wood – these hang from the bottom of the catcher and make it truly unique.

After designing mine, they had one of their artists come in and make TWO of them – Why two you ask?? Oh, that’s because someone is going to WIN the second one. Eeeek I am so excited for you guys!! This is truly a treat so say Thank You Karen!! To win, head over to their Facebook page and give them a big-fat-like!! Then leave a comment within this blog post about a recent dream you’ve had – the weirder, the better!! I wish you the best of luck + Happy Dreamin**

This giveaway is over – Thanks for entering!!
The winner is: Kristen Marie of NBD.

The other day I had a dream that I was walking south (I live in Pa) along a wooden bridge. I came across a river, and so I started to swim. Then, after what seemed like days in dream world, I ended up in New Hampshire — The opposite direction i thought I was headed. I was so discombobulated. I’m sure there are ways to dissect that haha

last night, I dreamed that a friend of mine died of exhaustion in a river. We were all there, treading water. she was the strongest swimmer, so it didn’t make any sense. after she was gone, i had to mother her boyfriend. He didn’t cry or seem to understand. just walked around with a half-smile on his face.

OKAY, SO I HAD ONE OF THOSE DREAMS THE OTHER NIGHT THAT SEEMS TO LAST THE ENTIRE NIGHT…YOU KNOW THE KIND, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU HALF-WAKE UP, AS SOON AS YOU FALL BACK ASLEEP YOU’RE RIGHT BACK WHERE YOU LEFT OFF. wELL, IN THIS DREAM I WAS BEING INTERROGATED BY THE CIA OR FBI OR SOME OTHER EQUALLY SCARY AGENCY. MY ENTIRE NIGHT WAS SPENT TOSSING AND TURNING UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT IN A EMPTY ROOM WITH PEOPLE SCREAMING AT ME. PROBABLY A CONSEQUENCE OF WATCHING TOO MUCH HOMELAND…

I am always dreaming very weird and very realistic dreams, but not long ago I dreamed. Of my mother my grandma and myself. the only difference was that our roles were reversed, I was my mother and she was my grandmother and my grandmother was me. It was very strange being in her body but knowing it was me, and it was even more odd seeing my mother and knowing it was her in the body of my grandmother. it left me with a very particular feeling. i never knew my grandma so waking up to that scene and knowing i had been “close” to her was both nice and strange. I suppose that’s what dreaming is all about.

I was getting into a cab because i needed a ride home. I opened the door and saw a female cab driver and hopped in the back seat. It was dark, so i didn’t see too much and expected a normal cab interaction. when I got in, I asked how much it would be to a certain address because I wanted to make sure I had enough cash on me to pay. I was counting my money in my wallet, when the light in the car came on and the woman was in the back seat next to me with no one in the driver’s seat. she wanted to hurt me, rob me or worse. I soon after woke up because in my dream i was trying to move away and couldn’t. and I could feel her lunge toward me as I finally made it to the waking world!

A few weeks ago I had a dream about a friend of mine who just moved to Oregon. We were in Mordor (yes, this is a Lord of the Rings reference and I’m not even necessarily a a big fan of the movies or books!). We were being chased by those crazy monster things and finally jumped off of a cliff to save ourselves and landed on the beach (apparently we were on an island). Then I looked over to see all of these cartoon animals from Snow White trying to save us. They were climbing on the hillside and the monsters scared them somehow so they all sunk into the ground crying along the way. My friend and I ran into the ocean and started swimming. Next thing I know she disappeared underwater to enter the “after life”. I started to fly above the ocean over all of these cruse ships. I landed and snuck into one and found my friend in a room writing over a while wall with red permanent marker. I started freaking out because I knew it wouldn’t come off the wall and when I asked her to stop she turned around and had a gun in her hand! I started to run away from her and she turned into a zombie! I woke up mid dream. Interpret THAT! ahhh!

i always have weird and realistic dreams… one night i had a dream that i was talking to my cat and he actually spoke back. what he said was ‘can you put me down now, please?’ it was so strange and i wish he would have spoke to me when i woke up! :)

Last night I dreamt I was married to my husband, and also engaged to a foreign stranger. It was sort of fun, and they had to fight over me hunger-games style unless I chose one. Luckily, even my subconscious went with my actual husband. ;)

These dream catchers are so lovely! What a treat it would be to win!

Love this! I tend to have the weirdest dreams when i nap. recently, i dreamt that I was in a bathroom and there was a dolphin in the bathtub. totally normal. i was petting it and as i got ready to take a bath, the dolphin just jumped up and swam down the train. Like it was no big deal. If only i had a pet dolphin!

one of my new years resolutions was to start up a dream journal (mainly because my roommates are tired of hearing about all my dreams over morning coffee) to make sure I kept this resolution up-my friend Max bought me the book ‘dream sight’ which is a dictionary/guide for dream interpretation. It has only been 15 days and it is crazy how much of the dream I can remember if I write it down immediately upon waking up. last night I had a dream that i got into a car accident with my ex-boyfriend and when i tried opening my eyes after the crash, it was as if i were going blind. i kept telling myself that i was dreaming and that i wasn’t in fact going blind. i kept trying to open my eyes but i could see only darkness. i woke up screaming and soon realized that i could in fact see (my vision was super blurry due to not having my contacts in). when i looked ‘blindness’ in my book it said that blindness often appears in dreams when i am stressed/worried for what the future holds. i put my two-weeks in for my current job without having another job – i may not know what the future holds, but i am ready for whatever awaits me! turns out i didn’t like what dreaming about ‘ex-bf’s meant,so let’s just pretend he wasn’t in it. to ensure i no longer dream about ex-bf’s i feel like i need a dreamcatcher to catch all those ex-bf nightmares!

the other night, i dreamt i was back in my old classroom teaching high schoolers again, but in the middle of teaching the classroom became a kind of freaky outdoor carnival. My students were going nuts and i knew i had to get out of there, so i snuck around to the back of all the rides (which looked like wooden flats on a stage) to get to my teacher’s desk. i pulled out blueprints and pushpins and sticky notes and then turned the desk upside down and ran away before waking up. super strange.

So this is a bit strange, but I’m in the process of planning my wedding for later this year and I’m already being plagued with crazy wedding dreams. The favorite and most bizarre so far is that i dreamed after the ceremony was over we went to the reception, but the buffet was empty. The caterer had never shown up. So instead of ordering pizza, my guests laid me down on the buffet table and had me for dinner….my mother is already concerned that she’ll have to drug me to sleep when we get near october…

the other night i had a dream that i was late for my first day of class for the semester. when i finally got to class, my professor asked me to get my books out and i realized that i hadn’t brought anything with me to class. i had that same dream for three or four nights before classes started!

Love your blog! LOVE this dreamcatcher! I liked/Loved Karen Kimmel Studios on facebook as well!

As for a recent dream, most of my recurring dreams always take place in a neighborhood i lived in as a child. I was walking home from the elementary school i used to go to and it was pitch black all around me. Even though it was so black that I was pretty much blind, I seemed to know where I was going and how to get home despite of that.

I was walking with a friend of mine and we were talking about how strange it is that everything was so dark, but we didn’t seem to have fear about it. Once we got to a place in my old neighborhood where the road splits, we went our separate ways to our homes. When I got to my home I woke up from the dream.

Super strange and not really an ending that makes sense, but I guess that’s what makes dreams so mysterious.

Love the dreamcatchers! I have really been wanting to learn to make them, and I’d love to win one!!!

My dream last night was amazing. I was in an elevator dropping quickly. the lights went out, and it was going so fast our feet were hovering off the ground. I slowly floated over to my lover and gave him a sweet kiss.

That’s all I can remember, but it’s funny because it’s like the Aerosmith song, ‘love in an elevator!’ !!!

I have had the strangest dreams since I became pregnant. The first dream I had i was an under-water lifeguard and would swim around below the surface waiting to see if anyone was having trouble. Then I had a dream where I went to a water park where you had to go down a big water slide to get in. I went down the slide and then they wanted me to pay to enter but i had left my purse behind not wanting to get it wet! So strange.

i dreamed i was staying with friends and there was a goat in their backyard, and i kept sneaking back to feed waffles to it during a birthday party. Everyone was upset because they didn’t trust the goat, and while i was trying to defend it as a harmless creature i noticed that it had become a man dressed like a goat. he stole all of the furniture from the house and then captured all of us + put us in this big truck to sell us. next thing i knew, i was on a boardwalk with the cast of girls.

I think you perhaps should have mentioned the cultural significance of dream catchers…everyone seems to forget that dream catchers have been important in north american indian culture for a long time.

i Love karen’s dream catchers. i had the pleasure of crafting with her last year at the crafting community in palm springs. she’s incredibly talented and lovely all around.

on new year’s eve i dreamt with a fox. i was scared at first, but the fox turned out to be friendly. after a bit of research, i learned that spirit animals show themselves in unexpected ways, and dreaming with a friendly fox is a sign that you should embrace the spirit of the fox. it was a nice way to start the new year.

These are so unique and beautiful! How lovely that you got to make some. I’m so glad I came across your blog and this post.

I sort of feel like my life is defined by weird dreams. SOme are DeepLy meaningful and others are downright silly, as I’m sure that is the case with most of us!

One night I had a dream that I was in a broken down abandoned house. I then came across a sweet little pink cupcake who could talk. He/she/it said that they were lost and were trying to fInd its friends. I grabbed My new fRiend with determintation and went upstairs to FInd a few people. Then I asked “anyone know this cupcake?” And proceeded to take a small bite out of it. Now, I’m definitely not one who is into harming others in any way, so this was a profound experience for me. Needless to Say, I woke up lauGhing.

Another dream that is much more mEaningful that I will never forget is One that I had where I was swimming upward from the bottom of the ocean. but as soon as i emerged at the surface, i started back at the bottom of another ocean. A voice surrounding me was repeating “you are infinite”. It was seriously amazing and I feel like it had so much of a metaphorical meaning personally.

I’m sure that sharing two dreams has disqualified me, but I really just wanted to comment & share because I love dreams and have enjoyed reading everyone else’s above :)

(Not to say that enjoying having one of these awesome dream catchers wouldn’t be wonderful!!!)

Xoxo

I don’t remember my dreams very often, but just the other night i had the best dream ever. I dreamed i was with my friends eating, cheese and meats and it was so awesome, i was drinking wine, too. And i remember it tasted so good and i was with my friend who was a vegetarian and she was eating meats and i thought that was kinda weird, but the coolest part of my dream was that the food tasted so good.. when i woke up, i wished i always ate in my dreams!
