So here it is – a little recap of why I went North this past weekend. I was lucky enough to get a seat at one of the Kinfolk Magazine Dinners ( well, brunch in this case ) and experience the series for itself. I have really enjoyed watching all of the other dinners unfold and seeing how completely different they are from city to city. The San Francisco brunch was inspired by a Spring Farmers Market – and let me tell you, I have never seen so many gorgeous flowers in my life ( Bravo Studio Choo ). It was held at Heirloom Cafe in the Mission of San Francisco – the small intimate setting was perfect for such an occasion.
Not only was I reunited with old friends and made a handful of new ones, but I finally got to speak with a few bloggers that I have been online acquaintances with for ages now! It was such a good feeling to see them in person, shake their hands, smile in their direction – you get the point!! I wish it happened more often. Honestly, the brunch inspired me to host my own get togethers in an attempt to continue to meet people face to face – there is such a large community in Los Angeles that I know it would be possible! Any takers??
I sat at one of the smaller tables so I got to know everyone around me pretty well! We were definitely all laughing and exchanging info by the end of the meal! There was a baker & jam maker, a bar owner, an artist, a scientist, the list goes on… We passed around all the tasty food and swapped stories – a perfect brunch if you ask me. My only complaint was that it went by too fast. Before I knew it, everyone was finishing up and saying goodbye. You know you’re having fun when noone wants to leave. Bravo Kinfolk, Bravo.
